Adam Laufer
Adam Laufer is an artist, a maker and a healer. His past experience includes teaching Iyengar yoga full-time and being a certified Polarity Therapist. Mysterious forces led him to be initiated with his wife, Erin, into an ancient Central Mexico lineage in 2003. His life is devoted to joyful (and only occasionally grumpy) service.
Erin Everett
Erin Everett has been trained in life coaching by Newfield Network, is a Plant Spirit Medicine healer, certified in the Integrative Body Systems method, and has apprenticed to multiple alternative medicine healers. She supports the international spiritual-social movement nonprofit called Sacred Fire and has spent decades learning from the trainings, teachers, and elders available there and within her spiritual lineage.
Erin is a weather worker, ceremonial leader, and initiated healer in her spiritual lineage. In 2003, along with Adam, she was initiated in the ancient and unbroken tradition of weather workers in Central Mexico by master weather worker don Lucio Campos de Elizalde.

The particular lineage of Nahua healing Adam and Erin practice comes through their Granicero or Weather Work tradition. As trained and initiated healers in this lineage, Adam and Erin are each known by the title Tepahtiani. [Need to Rework this and include don Lucio Campos de Elizalde and other elders]

Nahua healing is an authentic, time-honored spiritual system indigenous to the highlands of Central Mexico. Your healers work in relationship with the healing forces of nature to address the spiritual root causes of illness and imbalance in the hidden layers of a person's body, mind and spirit.

Before your arrival at our sanctuary, we will send you a Patient Form. This allows you to share the reasons and intentions that have called you to this healing path, so we may prepare your session with the care and respect it deserves. Every experience here is thoughtfully tailored to meet your unique needs.
During your healing session, we will gently explore these intentions together, refining them and bringing them into clear focus at our sacred altar. From there, the healer will call upon the forces of the altar, the plants, the weather, and the beings of nature to support your healing—chanting prayers, invoking guidance, and cleansing the spirit in the way our lineage has carried forward for generations.
-
Although we collect medicinal plants from the forest and garden to use for your sessions, none of the plants we use are psychedelic.
Our elders have taught us ways to help you connect with the profound medicine of Creation and to heal without needing these powerful and dramatic inputs.
-

Outside of your traditional healing sessions, retreat guests will join us for set meal times designed to nourish and support you throughout your experience. For both Retreat and Getaway guests, we may offer an evening fire circle, depending on weather and availability.
We also provide optional add-on experiences—such as guided plant and nature walks or a relaxing in-cabin massage from a licensed therapist—based on availability and for an additional fee.
Beyond these offerings, we encourage you to slow down, rest, and immerse yourself in the peaceful environment of the cabin and surrounding nature. Many guests spend their time journaling, reflecting, or engaging in any personal practices that support their healing journey.

Yes. We have welcomed many Christian guests in the past, and many have had meaningful and positive experiences with our work. Our tradition is rooted in the Nahua/Aztec lineage, and while it is not based in Christianity, it honors prayer, spirit, and the sacred in a way that many people from different backgrounds connect with deeply.
What matters most is the individual. Guests who come with an open heart, curiosity, and a willingness to experience a traditional healing practice outside of their own faith typically feel comfortable and supported here. If you hold Christian beliefs and feel called to this work, you are warmly welcome. We are always happy to speak with you directly to ensure it feels like a good fit for you.
-
Our retreats include full organic meals prepared for you, along with the presence of our healers or support staff throughout your stay. A Getaway, on the other hand, is a more independent experience in which you provide your own meals. This may involve grocery shopping before your arrival or arranging for grocery delivery from nearby stores. To make planning easier, we provide a Food Planning Resource Guide for all Getaway guests.
